Marcia Gay Harden
Marcia Gay Harden, born on the 14th of August, 1959, in La Jolla (California), was the third of five. Beverly Bushfield was her maternal grandmother and Thad Harden being in active military service, was her father. Family members moved frequently- she first became interested with theatre when the family lived in Greece and had attended plays in Athens. Harden began her studies in American institutions in Europe after which she returned to the US to pursue her studies at the University of Texas in 1983 after which she earned an MFA degree at NYU followed by a stint at NYU where she started her career as an actor. Miller's Crossing was the Coen Brothers humorous homage to the 1990 film about gangsters, Miller's Crossing. Although Harden was in films from 1986 (in The Imagemaker, a lesser-known film The Imagemaker), she appeared as a seductive femme fatale as part of her first role in the mainstream. Harden received praise for her sultry performance as Verna the seductive, dangerous woman. Harden also played supporting role. Her role was Ava Gardner, a TV biopic based on Frank Sinatra.
